Park Celtic went into this game in 8th position while the hosts Beechwood were in 3rd spot. With 12 points seperating the 2 sides Park went into the game needing a win.

In the first half Park had most of the better chances and were unlucky not to go into the half time break a few goals up. Beechwoods chances were few and far between and any chances they did have were easily dealt with by a combination of Goalkeeper Daniel Hussey and the Park Defence led by team captain Emmet Stokes.

Park started the second half brightly and with in a few minutes were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box when Daniel Grassick was taken down. Up stepped Emmet Stokes to score his 5th goal of the season (most of which were free kicks). Beechwood levelled the game 5 minutes later. Jeff Crosbie replaced Ryan Aherne in midfield with 15 minutes to go. Robbie O' Connor then popped up with what proved to be the winner with 10 minutes to go. Park were forced to play the final 3 minutes of the game with only 10 men as David Twomey was forced off due to injury.
